Position Opening at the Mission of Japan to NATO (maintenance staff)

The Mission of Japan to NATO is looking for a new local staff member who can start working from September 2025 onward for the below-stated position. The contract period is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance.
 
MAINTENANCE STAFF
 
1. Job Description

You will work in the official residence of the Ambassador of the Mission of Japan to NATO. In particular, you will handle maintenance and minor repair work that would be needed in the residence, on the exterior of the house or on the grounds; you will also take care of interior plants, as well as the garden, as a support to the gardener; you will run errands; you will carry out regular patrols to check for safety and security within the premises ; you will be helping the household staff with daily housekeeping tasks; you will help set up the residence rooms (sound system, screen, stage, etc) and tables for receptions and other events; and more generally you will perform any duties assigned.
 
2. Profile

・Adequate Belgian work permit 
・Valid Belgian driving license (B-license)
・Good communication skills in English and French
・You have experience and knowledge in various handywork (plumbing, electricity, gardening, maintenance, small repairs, etc);
・You are a dynamic and enthusiastic person with good interpersonal skills
・You enjoy working as a team;
・You accept flexible hours (weekend work and overtime as needed)
・You preferably live in the Brussels region
 
3. Salary and Working Hours

・Monthly salary 2,500 – 3,500 euro (Gross salary. Exact salary is calculated based on skills and experience)
・Monday to Friday. Full-time 38h/week (in accordance with Belgian legislation)
・Rest days: Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays;
