Minister in charge of Cybersecurity MATSUMOTO Hisashi Announcement 2027 Cyber Champions Summit

After a succesful edition of the 2026 Cyber Champions Summit in Prague (Czech Republic), Minister in charge of Cybersecurity MATSUMOTO Hisashi announced that Japan would host the 2027 edition of the summit a during a press conference on March 17, 2026. 

The Minister noted that "Serving as a host country for this summit is highly meaningful and it demonstrates our solidarity with NATO member states and IP4 partners". He further explained that "Significant cooperation has been taking place between Japan and NATO. In the light of this evolving relationship, Japan has put forth its candidacy to host the Cyber Champions Summit in 2027, where we will discuss how NATO member states and the IP4 can share situational awareness on cyber security and collaborate on common challenges".
